Roosevelt - dead man (not) walking at that point. Two months to go. At least he had the decency to replace an overt communist with a democrat party hack as VP before he died.

"There would be international trials of German war criminals...The Soviets would also retain possession of that part of Poland they got in 1939."

The rich irony of Soviet judges solemnly condemning Germans for invading and occupying Poland.

Old YAF song (Young Americans for Freedom), to teh tune of “America the Beautiful”:

O infamous for welfare state,
For fascist NRA,
You gave East Europe to the Reds
In Yalta one fine day.
O Roosevelt, oh Roosevelt,
God curse the likes of thee.
The bums you fed
Are glad you’re dead,
And so, by God, are we.

All three of these leaders knew about the Manhattan Project, but Churchill and Roosevelt were colossal idiots who didn't know Stalin knew.

Soon-to-be U.S. President Harry Truman knew nothing about Nukes. He knew no more about what was going on with the war, than the general public.

Anna Roosevelt knew more than the VP.

Japan gave up because of the atomic bomb, right..?

They gave up because Stalin refused to mediate a surrender and instead entered the war against Japan.

The day of the Emperor’s radio broadcast was the day after Stalin attacked Japanese troops in Manchuria; Japan knew there would be no way communists would in peace permit the Emperor system to continue; the Imperial family would die, just as they had in Russia.

In all likelihood we’d today be dealing with a North Japan and South Japan, just as we see in Korea now.

Couldn't tell by looking, but Roosevelt was the youngest of the three by several years.

Yalta is also where we got the North/South Korea split:

"After being assured of an occupation zone in Korea, and possession of Sakhalin Island and other territories historically disputed between Russia and Japan, Stalin agreed to enter the Pacific War within two to three months of Germany’s surrender."

I firmly believe that FDR made the “Cold War” and the Warsaw Pact and the death of millions by running for the 4th term. The reason was EGO, he felt that he was the “Essential Man” and by running he made Harry Truman his fall guy VP. His run in 1940 was almost as bad but 1944 was an absolute and avoidable DISASTER!
