I commiserate with Sarah. Kids generally are going to be who they’re going to be regardless of parental influence. I have a Harvard grad, and one that’s trying to get me on the Jerry Springer Show. Both grew up in the same house, committed parents, nice siblings, strong family bonds etc. They are all different.
Good post...........
That reminds me of a criminal case I was involved in some years ago. Two brothers, their incredibly abusive, alcoholic father. One brother went to Westpoint (I believe) on full scholarship and ultimately a general at the Pentagon. Our guy was convicted of rape and murder and the defense blamed it on his upbringing. At some point children choose their own path, no matter what you did for good or bad.
Well stated. Good luck to Brisol. And to whats-his-name ;-)
I’m with freedomjustice. Genes on the bus/ some kids make it, some kids don’t. There are many, many parents with heartaches today. Sounds like Palins do too.
Reminds me of a Bill Cosby routine where he starts off by saying, "You people who have only one child...you're not really parents."
(I have only one child).
Preach it!
I have five children. Two are the hardest working people you could ever imagine. Working their way through the university of their choice. Involved in all sorts of church and community activities.
Two are almost the laziest people in the world. Cannot get them to maneuver out of their comfort zone for any reason. They will work, but only if given a specific job and told what to do.
And the fifth is looking at the two sets and still hasn’t made up her mind which direction she wants to go.
