Takes a LOT of energy to do something like this - can't help wondering if there is an inner ear problem causing pain that the mother ignores...nothing like change in pressure to make a sore ear turn excruciating.

Probably has other issues too but .... it takes a lot of energy to maintain that w/o some other influence than just being a spoiled brat.
