The only attraction of cryptcurrency is the supposed anonymity of transactions. Take that away, and you take away the purpose of cryptocurrency.
AFAIK the anonymity is limited. The true purpose of cryptocurrency is a form of money whose scarcity cannot be destroyed by any government.
