Check out Valerie Solanas - the worst feminist ever!

In 1968, however, Warhol's thriving career almost ended. He was shot by Valerie Solanas, an aspiring writer and radical feminist, on June 3. Warhol was seriously wounded in this attack. Solanas had appeared in one of Warhol's films and was reportedly upset with him over his refusal to use a script she had written. After the shooting, Solanas was arrested and later pleaded guilty to the crime. As a result of the injuries he sustained, he had to wear a surgical corset for the rest of his life.

Troll art and he succeeded didn't he? He proved people would buy anything if you promoted it enough as "art". "Eight Elvises" for $100 million and how fast did he make this? 5 minutes?

Warhol is not worthy enough to even have died on George Washington’s Birthday. Please let Warhol rest in peace and today celebrate the life and birth of America’s “Indispensable Man.” (see, James Flexner)

He is buried about a 30 minute ride from me in SW Pennsylvania. His headstone reads “Warhol,”although the family stones around him read “Warhola.”

Died from an hernia operation... Apparently, he avoided it until it was way too late. Sadly, his interior was full of gangrene and the surgeons were unsuccessful in their attempts to save him.

Awesomely easy concept though... Take a black and white photo, throw some paint on it a voila... Million dollar art pieces.

How many more years will it take for his ridiculous paintings to be forgotten?

A master of talentless art. The sooner forgotten, the better.

Warhol and nine other artists were commissioned in 1962 to create works to decorate the New York State Pavilion of the 1964 World's Fair.

Where millions would pass, Warhol hung a mural entitled "The Thirteen Most Wanted," a bold black & white work depicting 22 head-and-shoulder mug shots of wanted men from a booklet published by the New York Police Department in 1962.

Seems to me he was trying to perform a public service.

My wife was on a NYC to Washington,D.C. flight with him in ‘75 or ‘76. She had a window seat and when he showed up he wanted to switch seats with her. She eventually obliged and he then grabbed her camera, pointed it out the window and proceeded to shoot the whole roll of film. She still has that stack of pictures of clouds, all Andy Warhol originals, and no way to prove their provenance.

Whoop Dee Doo, Wharhol died on this day, how about we talk about people that actually contributed something important, like raising a family, working, that died today.

Wharhol, Bleh!

Yeah, it's my opinion and just as valid as those that call his work art.
