Whenever the word “but” follows the words “I support the Second Amendment”, you know that the first statement was a lie.
“Progressives do not or cannot separate government and society. “
Their church is the state & they genuflect to three gods...government, genitalia and global warming.
Everything for the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.
-Benito Mussolini
And the funny thing is, if one replaces “State” with “Race”, it becomes the operating philosophy of La Raza.
Government should NEVER be conflated with society.
Every society is made of three parts: the Family, The Church, and The Marketplace.
Government is an imposition upon society. An imposition which, even at its best, is only a necessary evil.
“When you see the effect of this extreme violence on a human body, and especially the body of a child, maybe it will shock some people into understanding this cannot be a political issue... We cannot tolerate a society and live in a country with any level of pride when our babies are being slaughtered.”
How can anyone utter these words and also support abortion?
For any and all issues, problems, situations, even hypotheticals, the first, the last, the everytime answer from Liberal Creepozoids is a government action and / or solution. This always reminds me of what one of them said about the consequences of elections for democRATS ‘if we do not win, we do not eat.’ Competing, even existing in the private sector is not just anathema to them, it is beyond them.
SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one: for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries BY A GOVERNMENT, which we might expect in a country WITHOUT GOVERNMENT, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer. Government, like dress, is the badge of lost innocence; the palaces of kings are built upon the ruins of the bowers of paradise. For were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish means for the protection of the rest; and this he is induced to do by the same prudence which in every other case advises him, out of two evils to choose the least. Wherefore, security being the true design and end of government, it unanswerably follows that whatever form thereof appears most likely to ensure it to us, with the least expense and greatest benefit, is preferable to all others.
SocietyGovernment
- is produced by our wants,
- POSITIVELY by uniting our affections
- encourages intercourse
- is a patron
- in every state is a blessing.
To conflate society with government is therefore a cynical exercise which uses the good name of society for the evil (even if necessary) of government. IMHO the best definition of actual socialism is cynicism towards society and concomitant naive faith in government.
- is produced by our wickedness; the former,
- promotes our happiness NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices.
- creates distinctions.
- is a punisher.
- even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one
And cynicism can be defined as the conceit that negativity is objectivity. An example of cynicism, therefore exists wherever anyone knows that they are negative and yet claims to be objective. Which describes journalism. Journalists know that bad news sells, and journalists look high and low to find it. Bad news can either be a scandal which embarrasses society and those in whom society places trust. Or it can be the failure of government to prevent the (inevitable) limitations of society.
Consequently journalism as we know it inherently functions as socialist propaganda.
