Gold-medalist and cross-country skier Jessie Diggins will have the honor of holding the American flag in the Winter Olympics closing ceremony this Sunday.
Diggins, 26, was elected to carry the national banner by fellow Team USA athletes after she and skiing partner Kikkan Randall, 35, made history as the first American cross-country skiers to win Olympic gold on Wednesday.
Diggins shared she is 'humbled' by her election and admits she at first thought the honor was a mistake.

I bet Shani doesn’t think it’s fair, coming or going.
Another white girl carrying the flag???
That's racist!!!
Whatever happened to him after his pre-Olympic tantrum? I haven’t seen any coverage, deliberately.
Closing ceremonies already? Dang, I didn’t even watch one minute of the coverage... how “Gay” of me...
White and not homosexual...that just won’t do.

From Wikipedia:
On February 13th, 2018 in the 1500-meter race, Davis finished 19th at 1:46.74. On February 23th, 2018 in the 1000-meter race, Davis finished 7th at 1:08.78.
Oh, darn. That’s such a shame. /s
Me neither. Reduced to watching reruns of Forensic Files...
Just sayin’.....look at the map and look where almost 100% of Winter Olympics successes got their DNA. (I’m waiting for the maniacs to want to abolish the Winter Olympics because it favors those from cold-weather climates....I hope I’m being sarcastic)
Dramatic, exciting, epitome of total commitment and maximum effort, followed by total collapse just past the finish line.
Unbelievable. Even the other teams she had bested were hugging and congratulating them for their efforts and achievement.
She gets my vote to carry the flag.
You joke, however, watching NBC today you would have thought those jerks being rude to VP Pence were American heroes according to NBC<.
Unfortunately, they won't stop.

My niece and nephew (both good x-country skiers in their own right) remember Diggins at skiing events and both said she was something special when she was young.
The only events that really interested me were the cross country and the biathalons, but i could never find any coverage. No much ice dancing and skating stuff.
