They were drinking at the house and they were driving to the beach which is located a few yards from the bridge. I have seen this area, easy for a drunk to go off the "bridge" which was at the time just pilings and a few inch piece of wood on the sides which at night with blurry vision and in a hurry to get to the totally secluded beach made it actually fairly easy to drive off. This was manslaughter plain and simple given his inebriation.
