We’re going to be repairing the damage that worthless POS fraud did to this country for a long time.

The tax bill was not retroactive. Your 2018 taxes won’t include the penalty.

Remember what the Harvard pig pal of Obola’s who designed ObamaCare said: “We depended on the stupidity of the American voter to get it passed”.

For some stupid reason the repeal does not take place until 2019, from what I understand.

Yep, same here +$5000 deductible = $17,000/yr., Single! So $17,000 before coverage kicks in PLUS the penalty, er, I mean tax/s I paid since Obamacare began because unaffordable. If I could afford that, I’d have 2 houses. Grrrrrr!

It’s never been enforceable. Even last year, when trying to file electronically, it tried to charge the fine. Instead, I filled out the paper form and mailed it in. I received the full refund (they didn’t deduct the ACA fine)

“Anyone else run into this yet?”

I don’t pay taxes, so no.

You don’t have to either. It’s scary, but when I stopped I was single with lots of room to breathe.

I have a family now so I can see how many people think it’s not possible. It’s scary as hell to decide to stop paying taxes. I did it and now I’m used to it. I’ve already discovered that they don’t do anything to people at a certain income level.

That may all change though. And with Trump in office I feel that the system of “taxation and representation” is making a come-back. I’m going to start paying taxes again.

I stopped when they threatened to “Deem it passed” on the healthcare vote. That’s when I simply stopped. They didn’t “Deem it passed” but they still put it on the table. And that’s not how the government works. With Trump doing his job presiding over the congress I feel that things are getting back on track.

It doesn’t have to be perfect for me to pay my taxes, but dammit man they need to at least not flaunt it in our faces that they are treasonous bastards.

From the IRS website, questions on exemption:

What happens if I don’t pay the fee?

The IRS will hold back the amount of the fee from any future tax refunds. There are no liens, levies, or criminal penalties for failing to pay the fee.

Try TurboTax.  You can prepare everything free and one click away from filing.  If you qualify your filling might be free, too.  The point is, that they give you several options to play around with the disastrous ACA and it will tell you right away if you got away with not paying for it or not. Good luck!

I have insurance but due to Obamacare and that worm Mitch McConnell, I lost an extra $15,000 last year in extra taxes.

Part of Obamacare raised a plethora of taxes, including the Capital Gains Tax. Last year I received an ESOP distribution for my retirement from a major corporation and was excited to know that with Trump in office Congress was going to kill Obamacare which would have dropped the Capital Gains back to 15% and put an extra $15K into our retirement rainy day account.

All that went out the window when, in March 2017, Mitch McConnell stated he didn’t want to totally repeal Obamacare because he liked all the tax increases so I got boned out of a nice chunk of cash that would have been a cushion for emergencies when my wife retires in two years.

I detest that triple-chinned maggot, Mitch McConnell.

I had forms saying I was covered for the year but all I had to do was check a box on the 1040 saying so - I think the deal was they wouldn’t pursue those who checked the box “in error” for 2017 tax year.

I have an accounting degree and I think you had insurance last year.

If the IRS asks, just exclaim “Oh! HEALTH insurance. I thought it said Life Insurance”(smack forehead).
