Cults are a religious practice or worship, a system of beliefs and ritual connected with worship of a deity, spirit or group of deities or spirits, a great or excessive devotion or dedication to some person, idea or thing, the rites, ceremonies and practices of a religion or a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious. Scientology fits the definition of a cult. The NRA supports the 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights. It has no rites, ceremonies and practices of a religion. It exists to inform us that "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Period. The idea that guns equate to civilian violence relates to a lack of knowledge that knives and blunt objects are the major weapons for humans to use to harm each other, not guns. I can find no data concerning the number of NRA members who have gunned someone down.
