Sports Illustrated has learned that Michael Smiths last day as an ESPN SportsCenter host will be Friday.
Smith leaving the 6 p.m. SC6 edition of SportsCenter follows his former SportsCenter co-anchor Jemele Hill s decision to depart the franchise to join the staff of The Undefeated, the ESPN microsite that fuses sports, race and culture, as well as other additional assignments. Both Hill and Smith have multiple years left on their ESPN contracts so look for Smith to craft a new role at ESPN over the next couple of months.

It’s almost as if people don’t want to be hit over the head repeatedly with race hustlers and “social justice” while they’re watching sports. What a concept, eh ESPN?
I have a novel idea: what about an ESPN program that is actually about “sports”?
Seems to me that Disney/ESPN management is following the MTV-model. Make a channel aBout cultural commentary that is totally disassociated from the original mission.
Not going to be missed, at all.
Well, at least ESPN has realized what a disaster Smith and Hill were.
People dont want to be hit over the head repeatedly with race hustlers and social justice:
While theyre watching sports, watching tv, going to church, eating dinner with others or any other activity that would be fun without the race hustling and “Social Justice” bs!
“Well, at least ESPN has realized what a disaster Smith and Hill were.”
I can’t believe how clueless they were for as long as they were. That pair couldn’t draw an audience no matter how the network attempted to prop them up over a very long time. It got to the point that I couldn’t stand watching Mike & Mike after the first two hours on Wednesday because that’s when Smith and Hill were brought in to opine. I shut it off.
What’s ESPN????
Why would anybody care ?
This is ‘news’?
I havent watched ESPN in 20 years. Michael Smith is just another Michael Smith. Wouldnt know him from a hole in the ground.
Who?
Espn is horse crap.
Not interested.
Dropped the network, the NFL, and NBA and don’t miss it one bit.
Tired of kneeling
Tired of pushing racial shit.
Tired of pampered overpaid criminal types they push as good folks.
Okay.
Put them all in one division. Then, in a year or so, cut the division due to "low performance" or somesuch. Everyone is laid off, all the potstirrers are gone. Easy Peasy.
You didn’t have to be The Amazing Kreskin to predict this.
I anticipate a new ESPN channel for these fools: ESPN-BLM
ESPN’s problem is nobody waits for a highlight show anymore. You can get them on your phone, computer, tablet, etc. almost immediately.
