...However, the human-like piglet died a few hours later due to breathing difficulties.
Pig and goat breeders Walter Oscar Velez and wife Roxana Noemi Villarreal, who also produce charcoal at their farm, said that they are at a loss for an explanation....

Explanation? Any Muslim refugee males in the area?

I don’t think there was any ‘human intervention’ here.
This poor little piggy was simply not done being formed.
Even it’s eyes are still liquified and unfinished.
I have seen other strange livestock that is alarmingly human like.
One day, someone will write a novel about a farm animal with completely human consciousness.
That is likely to be a very sad story ( knowingly walking the earth while encased in a wiry, dirty pelt that never comes off) but it doesn’t have to be.

One day, someone will write a novel about a farm animal with completely human consciousness. H. G. Welles came close to doing that.

There was Franz Kafka's story
Metamorposis about a boy who woke up one morning transformed into a giant insect and how his family rejected him.

Boy talk about correlation is not causation. They might as well blame the presence of water, after all 100% of these animals ingested dihydrogen monoxide.

DHMO is a thoroughly dangerous material. Gaseous DHMO causes severe burns. DHMO is associated with destructive hurricanes. And that’s just the start of the problems with this stuff.

One day, someone will write a novel about a farm animal with completely human consciousness. It's already been done. Check out "Sirius", by Olaf Stapledon.

Reminds me of this Irish horror film set on a farm (ISOLATION, 2005).

The piglet had a somewhat rare birth defect called cyclopia. According to the Wikipedia entry, this occurs in about 1/16,000 births or 1/200 miscarriages.
Cyclopsia can be caused by ingesting a toxic plant, Veratrum californicum (common names: corn lily, false hellebore). I do not think that this is the only cause of cyclopsia, but it is the most common cause in livestock. Pregnant women have caused this defect in their infants by ingesting “natural remedies” for nausea.
The birth defect has been observed throughout history. I believe that it is the source of the cyclops legends.
This birth defect is always lethal.
