Refused to deploy? Uh, no.
No refusal to deploy, simply wanted proof of legitimate CINC.
A friend of mine was a key member of his defense team who hired my daughter to transpose his prison diaries for their website.

If by that, you mean that refusal should negate any consideration of a presidential pardon, I might agree, but not on the basis of what is in the public record.
For instance, if an officer is ordered to massacre US civilians, should the officer follow that order and protest later?
In any event, Lakin's protest should have served as an alert to those in the military command who swore to protect the Constitution. What better way to signal a possible, if not likely, coup than an attempt to grab the WH by one who, on the face of it is not qualified and refuses to qualifiy? Most particularly when qualification is a very simple clerical matter.
With the clarity of hindsight, we can see the logical outcome of the known corruption in Obama's WH was indeed such a coup. We do not yet know the extent of that corruption and should assume the coup is not entirely resolved.
At the least, Trump should fully pardon LtCol Lakin if only to serve as a message of encouragement to those LEO's, military officers and government officials charged with directly protecting the Constitution.
