Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, one of two aging nuns who were fighting the sale of the 8-acre (3-hectare) convent, died on Friday during related legal proceedings in Los Angeles County Court, Fox affiliate KTTV reported.
“To Katy Perry, please stop. It’s not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people,” Holzman had earlier told KTTV as she entered the courthouse with Sister Rita Callanan.

It appears from this brief item that the conflict was between the Sisters and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
She will get what she wants. And she will enjoy it without remorse because she isn’t encumbered by a soul.

This story reeks. Nuns don’t own property and I doubt they would have any say in buying or selling church property.
Religious orders own property.

My thoughts exactly.
IIRC the nuns, or perhaps sadly now, the nun, claim their order’s property wasn’t under control of the archdiocese but rather directly under the Vatican. So the archdiocese had no authority to botox the sale. Which is conceivable, but I haven’t seen whether the Vatican had weighed in on that claim.
This is non-news. It is a shame the sisters have to see their ex-convent be owned by someone they believe lacks morals and therefore is not deserving, but they have no right to interfere in the legal sale from the rightful owner, which is the arch diocese.
Beyond that, don’t the sisters understand what goes on inside hotels?
Hookers plying their trade.
