Newly-released video of a mysterious object streaking over the Atlantic Ocean shows the Pentagon needs to take UFOs seriously, a researcher says.

The sensational two-minute clip captured by a camera aboard a US Navy F/A 18 jet flying at 25,000 feet wowed military personnel.

“What the f— is that thing?” shouted the pilot in the video posted online by the To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science, a private research company.

It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin’ purple people eater.

Straight and level flight. Wow, who would have thought something from a bird to a test rocket could be in straight and level flight?

I do believe that we aren’t the only intelligent life in the universe, however we need to discover intelligent life in Washington, DC.

With all the stars and exoplanets found, we can’t be the only one.

Seems like a lot of stuff like this ends up being “unidentified” flying objects when more knowledgeable witnesses might be able to identify such objects as being no big deal. It takes knowledgeable people to keep the not-so knowledgeable people from going into hysterics.

I don’t disagree. I just think the distance is the issue. You just don’t go from one place to the next without invoking some physics.

My favorite view is when I’m out with my telescope watching distant star clusters with high magnification lenses & I observe a just as distant ball of light slowly passing through the field of view. It’s hard to call that satellites.

Definitely a bird as you can see it clearly early on. Sounds like they were testing a new system...

Pilot 1: Hey, think we can track a bird?
Pilot 2: nah, no way.
Pilot 1: aw, let’s give it a shot...

Just for fun, I was a maintenance man on the NORAD SAGE computer system, stationed at Malmstrom AFB, MT in 1975. I was present the night this happened:

ATFLIR is designed to operate on targets that are traveling in excess of Mach 1, so let’s rule out a lone seagull.

You just don’t go from one place to the next without invoking some physics.

Based on our current understanding of the world around us you are correct. What might our species know in the next 1,000, 10,000, or 100,000 years though? If we believe the universe (or universes) is billions of years old, another species may have a million or 2 million year head start on us. I for one am not ready to rule that possibility out.

I am no pilot, so forgive this “ignorant” question. If the aircraft was a 25,000 ft, how could that be a bird big enough to see like that? I thought the O2 above 10k feet was too thin to breath.

I understand if I am going east at 500 miles an hour, and something passes me at 500 miles an hour, it will look like its going a lot faster.

They saw something. I doubt at that altitude they were seeing a bird large enough to track.

The pilots are having a good time. They know what the object is.

Yes, they were clearly laughing about locking on to it, a bird, pretending they don't know what it is. If it were a real UFO, they would be a bit more serious. Stupid Drudge and even the WaPo fell for it.

You can clearly see the what looks like waves on the water surface so the object can't be very large compared to them. It's just a dot.
