I was in the newspaper biz for 25 years — city hall reporter, business editor, etc.

I worked with plenty of what I might call “old-fashioned liberals.” I may not have agreed with them on a lot, but they were at least semi-rational. They have all retired or passed on.

This current generation of Leftist shills disgrace my profession. Thank God I’m retired.

The local collection of ink-stained wretches saw their population reduced recently and the moans continue daily in the various columns. Many were pushed out the top as they were aging out anyway but they managed to backfill with more of the usual cut from the same liberal cloth. The local rag was bought a few years ago from the family that had run it as a fiefdom forever but they did see the writing on the wall and took Warren Buffet’s check (B-H Media Group).

They are losing their jobs because instead of chasing down real news stories, today’s media is just a PR mouthpiece for the Bolsheviks. All you need is someone at a PC opening the marching orders from the Soros commissars; no reason to actually investigate/research/verify anything.

This is true. It used to be you actually had democrat friends and everyone was civil. There were no huge chasms in beliefs and values and politics were seldom more than joking or ribbing. And then the 60’s happened. I think the turning point came when Barry Goldwater lost to Johnson. Downhill ever since.
