Toys "R" Us shutting U.S. stores, liquidating inventory

Toys "R" Us is going out of business in the U.S. The iconic chain announced early Thursday that it's seeking bankruptcy court approval to start closing its 735 U.S. stores and liquidating their inventory.

Some 33,000 employees will lose their jobs as a result.

Toys "R" Us Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dave Brandon said in a statement, "I am very disappointed with the result, but we no longer have the financial support to continue the Company's U.S. operations."

Guy running my current employer into the turf is a Bain alumnus, and Harvard.

Beyond National Lampoon and the Harvard Architecture (chips), what exactly has Harvard produced in the last 30 years that was of public good?

The wife and I were thinking of buying a franchise here in Poland which sold toys and we're not sure

Used to be a Thanksgiving tradition - the Toys R Us catalog would come in the big newspaper and the kids would sit around and make their Christmas lists from it.

Alas.

Last time I was in there almost everything was made of cheap plastic from China... it was dreadful... they got greedy.
