Trump decides to remove national security adviser (update: White House calling this fake news)
The Washington Post ^ | March 15, 2018 | Ashley Parker, Josh Dawsey, Philip Rucker, Carol Leonnig

President Trump has decided to remove H.R. McMaster as his national security adviser and is actively discussing potential replacements, according to five people with knowledge of the plans, preparing to deliver yet another jolt to the senior ranks of his administration.

Trump is now comfortable with ousting McMaster, with whom he never personally gelled, but is willing to take time executing the move because he wants to ensure both that the three-star Army general is not humiliated and that there is a strong successor lined up, these people said.

The turbulence is part of a broader potential shake-up under consideration by Trump that is likely to include senior officials at the White House, where staffers are gripped by fear and uncertainty as they await the next move from an impulsive president who enjoys stoking conflict.

For all of the evident disorder, Trump feels emboldened, advisers said — buoyed by what he views as triumphant decisions last week to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum and to agree to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The president is enjoying the process of assessing his team and making changes, tightening his inner circle to those he considers survivors and who respect his unconventional style, one senior White House official said.

Just days ago, Trump used Twitter to fire Rex Tillerson, the secretary of state whom he disliked, and moved to install his close ally, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, in the job. On Wednesday, he named conservative TV analyst Larry Kudlow to replace his top economic adviser, Gary Cohn, who quit over trade disagreements.

And on Thursday, Trump signaled that more personnel moves were likely. “There will always be change,” the president told reporters. “And I think you want to see change. I want to also see different ideas.”

General Michael Flynn should have this job, as was intended from the beginning.

That’s a lie. So I’ll take everything else said here with a grain of salt.

This portrait of the Trump administration in turmoil is based on interviews with 19 presidential advisers and administration officials, many of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to offer candid perspectives.

Anyway, it's a long article, and a lot of staff are worried. I was critical of the McMaster pick when it happened. I knew when I turned on CNN and they were happy that it just wasn't going to work. He went on to purge the NSC of the pro-Trump people. Poor KT McFarland got forced out among others, and the Senate wouldn't even let her be ambassador to Singapore.

When Trump got elected, I was critical in the transition of some of his Cabinet picks. I got some of my info from Breitbart - which was also critical of some of the picks. Some of the people selected were qualified people, but they didn't support the agenda Trump ran on. Some would have fit in well in a Jeb! administration. I said Trump should pick from a core group of people who truly support him and what he ran on because when you are at war with the establishment, the last thing you need is to fight your own Cabinet. You need a united team. You don't need people like Tillerson (perfect for Jeb!) out there openly contradicting you or not supporting your goals.

Steve Bannon (who turned out to be a saboteur on his own) was right about one thing - their sin was embracing the establishment to try to build a government. It ultimately won't work. I had read articles which said Trump didn't ultimately trust any of people in the White House. I don't know if that's true, but I think there must be some truth to it.

As I read one person quoted after the PA-18 loss say, she voted for Trump but was tired of the turmoil. Trump needs to do his purge now. It's like ripping off a band aid. Purge the people who don't support your agenda and have it done before the midterm season starts. Build a team of loyalists with one mission - the one Trump ran on. Build a team of people who won't leak to the press either.

I have been very unhappy with McMaster because of his unwillingness to stop the homosexual/transgender nonsense in the military. The first requirement of a soldier ought to be that he isn't some sort of mental nut case.

McMaster couldn't seem to understand that the only proper course of action is to tell these whackos and their supporters "no."

Edit - ANY should have been MANY.

Trump obviously trusts some people. Bad typo on my part.

As far as the transgenders, that’s Mattis. He is the one recommending transgender soldiers in the military. McMaster probably doesn’t care either, but Mattis is the one who recommended it.

Yea, I want it to be true as well, and given President’s Trump recent flurry activity where globalists/Establishment advisers and other members have been fired I am extremely hopeful that it is true.

That being said, it is the WP and it is FULL of LIARS.
