The kid’s probably watched every violent shoot em up on the screen, not to mention violent video games. Anyone who thinks children aren’t corrupted that way, doesn’t have a clue. I’m appalled at what some of my grandchildren are allowed to view. God help them.
Evidently you and I are in a minority. I know it's easy to say because I've never been married and don't have kids but if I did have them, there would be no video games in the house. As far as smart phones, none until their senior year year of high school. I would maintain a land line in the house for their phone calls.
I grew up in northern Michigan and during the summer months my parents only concern with me was that I was home for lunch then back in time for supper. I had no problem riding my bicycle 8 miles to go play with a friend who lived on the other side of the lake or go fishing with my cousin.
Computer video games and smart phones in the hands of children are nothing but pacifiers........
