Insufficient information. What Device are you using? What operating system is on device? One person mentioned FireFox may be updating. That is its default setting. However mobile devices should rarely, maybe never, be set to auto-update.

If you like Firefox, I’d suggest checking out Comodo’s IceDragon:

Since about last month Firefox on our family computer would cause it to crash every time we opened Firefox.

We (actually my husband) reinstalled Windows 10, updated it, and then tried to run Firefox again and it did the same thing. So we removed it and installed Chrome and now things are fine.

It sounds like a preflight TSA security loop delay. Type “round robin” after your entry.

can’t help you there. but the guy who started Mozilla/Firefox who was fired because he didn’t support homosexual fake marriage went on and started a new browser called BRAVE.

The thing is great because it blocks ads. you go straight to content. I love it.

Firefox went downhill a few years back.

Pale Moon got even worse.

I switched to Comodo Ice Dragon.

It's the same platform as Firefox and Pale Moon but up to date and works better (for me):

Comodo Ice Dragon

“What Device are you using?”

Good question. A browser running on a phone or tablet using whatever OS is going to yield a different experience than one on a standard desktop PC.

I use Pale Moon for nearly everything.

I used Pale Moon for a few years and loved it but went back to Firefox when my three favorite security add-ons (Ghostery, AdBlock Plus, and NoScript) would not update or work.

Pale Moon didn't keep up with the changes and became hard to use. Have they made the proper updates? I would love to go back to them.

I use Pale Moon. When mine does it, I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and open the task manager. From there, I close Pale moon, then restart. A single window opens asking if I want to re-open all of my previous browser windows.
Then I go through all of the browser windows to find the one that’s causing the loop. Usually, it’s the one I most recently opened.
Either I remove the check mark next to that window, or I open it and quickly right click the problem browser window and hit, “Stop.”
I think it’s caused by multiple Java items firing up from all of the ads. A real PITA!

“That’s what I get for not reading every post.”

Well, IceDragon is a good replacement for Firefox - it deserves getting two votes.

"If there is such a thing as a conservative web browser Brave is it, and deserves our support."

I tried it, maybe I should give it another try, but it was to minimalistic, given the multi-browser ( switch-profile ) and a bajillion saved bookmarks I have.

Opera? It's neat, but fungule to the Chinese and it was becoming a memory hog and hanging me up, gone....

Palemoon? Ya I am using it but it is a Drag Racing "Grenade Engine" runs like hell for a bit but ya never know when it is going to blow up. The latest release has been stable ( knock on wood ) and being careful about your add-ons helps. I dearly miss Ghostery, as it isn't compatible and UBlock is just so so.

Anyone have a VPN that works w/ Palemoon?

I may have to try the other Mozilla / Palemoon clone mentioned in this thread....

I crack everytime I see someone use the word “Homo”.......reminds me of growing up and my friends and you could say that without people getting all crazy. It’s just short for homosexual. Thanks for the tip on the browser too......”homo”....LOL. I can still hear us calling each other that growing up......

52.7.2. I kinda stopped updating because I heard that the addons I use would stop working in some way.

Friends don't let friends use Firefox.

I gave up that POS software several years ago.

I use it occasionally to have another browser for stuff, but every other time I use it, it wants to go through a complete update.

I classify it under "scumware" now.
