Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday China and the United States should maintain negotiations and he reiterated pledges to ease access for American businesses, as China scrambles to avert a trade war.

Li told a conference that included global chief executives that China would treat foreign and domestic firms equally, would not force foreign firms to transfer technology and would strengthen intellectual property rights, repeating promises that have failed to placate Washington.

That is a significant reduction in our massive trade deficit with China.

100,000,000,000?

I am not (at all) convinced China is serious about this.

We will see.

Trump will decide. That makes me much more confident. But China has ZERO history of being honest about trade.

None.

Just enact on Chinese goods the exact same duties and market access barriers that face American goods entering China.

nope - the trade war has failed already. it’s a side show distraction.

the real news is

1) Petroyuan massive success
2) Silk road massive success
3) SWIFT is quickly dieing

These trends remain. As long as Washington runs a 10% of GDP fiscal deficit and as long as the Fed destroys our currency; we’ll keep getting poorer.

End the Fed

A lot of lawyers, bankers, and insurance guys getting access works wonders on the trade deficit from the economists point of view but doesn’t do a thing for US manufacturing unemployment.<p

Unless the deals that come from Trump’s “trade war” put average folks back to work they just play right into the hands of the scum already resisting Trump in Congress and all the other people who are dedicated to making sure Trump doesn’t drain the swamp.

Trump has their attention with his tariff threats, and they probably think he’s just crazy enough to carry through on them - I bettin’ they make some concessions at least to start....

not as big as the forcing of the commies no longer being able to own parts of our businesses in china and real sanctions on IP theft. that’s estimated at 350B/y. Just wait for the WTO 302 case against china to hit.

Yes. $100,000,000,000. Seen that from multiple sources. China needs us more than we need them. Sure some Trump haters here will naysay. Well, all I have to say to them is they should have voted for Hillary if they think she would have come close to doing this.
