Roseanne revival premieres to massive ratings
Entertainment Weekly ^ | March 28, 2018 | James Hibberd

The revival of Roseanne returned to massive preliminary ratings Tuesday night.

The premiere delivered 18.2 million viewers and a 5.1 rating among adults 18-49.

In the adult demo, that even trumps Sunday’s 60 Minutes which featured an interview with Stormy Daniels.

More relevant entertainment program comparisons to come shortly.

More to come…

Huge ratings for the revival of the Roseanne. The premiere episode focused on the rift between Roseanne and her sister, who had stopped speaking to each other over the election (Roseanne supported Trump, Jackie voted for Stein). Jackie wearing the pink pussy hat and Nasty Woman t-shirt was pretty funny. But hopefully there won't be too much politics for the rest of the season.

The Stormy Daniels interview was right after that overtime Duke vs. Kansas game!

People were not waiting all night to tune in for that Stormy Daniels interview! LOL

"But hopefully there won't be too much politics for the rest of the season."

Surely, you jest...politics will keep the show lively..as long as it isn't in every line.

“hopefully there won’t be too much politics for the rest of the season.

I watched an interview with Lecy G. who plays Becky. She said only the first couple episodes get much into politics. After that, not so much.

The writers did good....showing how families cope with taking different sides. I’ve seen it in so many families. My mother voted for every Dem that lived because she lived in the FDR era. She knew ZIP about politics. I asked her if you think abortion is murder and a sin, why do you still vote for Dems. Went right over her head. Still thought she was voting for FDR. She was born 1917 and lived to be 90.

Why would they put politics ONLY in the first couple episodes? Because it “sells”.....and then leave it out of the rest....people may not return...will be interesting to see.

Would certainly be ironic if this show made money causing more pro Trump personalities on tv.

I watched both episodes and they were done very well. They had SOME politics but not a lot...and I am thrilled Roseanne supports Trump. One thing though, it really made me miss Last Man Standing.. BRING IT BACK!

Same here - my mom was CRAZY about Slick Willy. When I tried to tell her what a fraud Obama was, she would have none of it, thought he was way cool.

I have noted that crowds tend to gather at the scene of an accident.

ABC would be smart to revive one of Tim Allen’s sitcoms (either Last Man Standing or Home Improvement).

Q: What is “politics”?
A: What happens when you have two or more people in the same room.

I disagree with you. I only watched it in anticipation of some political jokes. They did not disappoint me. The jokes were funny, and I understood them. I have not been a Roseann fan for many years due to the National Anthem scandal, but I gave her a chance due to her support for Trump. I did not know what to expect, but I enjoyed the show. I normally don’t like sitcoms that much, so if they stop the political jokes, I will probably stop watching.

Will it last as long as “Last Man Standing”?
Will Tim Allen make a cameo?

My grandparents were the same way. They voted Democrats for their entire lives even though they were hardly liberal.
