There is a worn out old golf saying that on pro am day the last time
the pro speaks to the amatuer(s) in his group is when he shakes their hand
on the first tee.
The majority of golf pros are very friendly with “regular folks”, on and off the golf course (in my experience).
Tiger was an exception, apparently.
I’ve caddied some pro ams and the pros are usually very nice and funny towards the group, fwiw.
