ORLANDO, Fla. - A woman said she felt fat-shamed when she was unable to ride Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
Angel Morales said she asked workers if she could ride the ride bench with one fewer person so that she wouldn't make anyone sitting beside her feel uncomfortable.
Morales said she felt humiliated when employees declined her request.
The theme park doesn't have weight restrictions, so Morales said she didn't know she couldn't go on the ride until she was about to board it.
Morales said she bought annual passes to the park last year and couldn't wait to check out The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
"(I) couldn't fit on any of the Harry Potter rides because of my weight," she said. "(I) did a lot of bag-holding in Diagon Alley and that kind of thing."(snip)
"It's somewhat humiliating to have to ask for an accommodation because of one's weight -- that you have to put yourself out there and kind of beg to be able to ride and embarrass yourself because of weight," Morales said.
She filed a discrimination complaint with the Florida Commission on Human Relations. She said overweight people should be a protected class.
"Their interest is getting bodies and getting money and not accommodating paying customers," she said. "That's how I felt."
Morales said she was offered a $100 gift card, dinner and movie tickets, but she doesn't plan to return to the park.

I don't think her original request was out of line.
Just my opinion.
Her actions afterward are an entirely different issue.

Which one of those - blindness, height, inability to walk, skin color, or religion will also cause the safety features on an amusement park ride to fail in the same manner high mass does?
Explain to us, (using physics) why that is.

Not an argument, an assumption on your part.
Not that I really care, I’m skinny (well, sort of if graded on a Curve with People walking into Weightwatchers for the very first time).
I am been there and they do have weight restrictions posted. They are also posted online last time I checked. Last time I was at Universal, there were a couple of rides I couldn’t ride and I didn’t cry about it.
I had a stomach bypass since then and have lost over 100 pounds. I am looking forward to my trip this year.
So asking for a bench seat all to herself wasn’t out of line?
Anyone else in that line who didn’t receive their own bench seat would have rightfully sued.

And you’re assuming the ride would have still been safe with her weight occupying the seat in that particular configuration.
Physics doesn’t care about feelings. Which is why the SJW’s (of which you apparently identify) are looking to eliminate ‘white male priviledge’ from those bastions of mathematics and reason.
The woman has enough mass that her inertia could exceed what the safety rail is able to hold in the car. Even all by herself.

You are assuming she told the truth. I have been to Universal regularly for past 30 years.
They do make concessions when possible. Some rides cannot accommodate people over a certain size. Many also have size restrictions and if the kid is not tall enough, they can’t ride.

If I watched someone get special treatment you’d damned well better think I’d ask for it for myself.
Why should I share a seat with a sweaty stranger just because she’s too fat to share a seat?
Why should she be REWARDED for being overweight? Having lost and gained weight all my life I can say for a certainty that weighing 300lbs is a choice.

I didn’t read a description of her Body Shape in the story.
I know of a Woman who died on a Roller Coaster because he was very heavy on top with very short Legs. She popped out of the Seat like squeezing a Water Balloon with your hands.
People with real disabilities can’t simply go on a diet to change the their issues. Shame on this !@#$%^! for claiming she is disabled.
If they allowed her request, every one of their customers would be happy. She would be happy, the person not squeezed in next to her would be happy, and the person sitting away from her would be happy. The wait-time for people in line would not have been noticed due to one less person on the ride - not sure if anyone can be happy standing in line, but this wouldn’t have affected anything.
Sounds to me like they screwed up.

How would you feel if obese people automatically got first class airplane seats for the same price you paid for cattle class just because they were too fat for the seat you got?
The ride wouldn’t just be one more cart late. EVERYONE would rightfully demand their own seats.
