In a world of Pocahantas Liz Warrens, the song “I’m An Indian Too” from Annie Get Your Gun is not included in many recent presentations of the musical.Not PC.

The song actually pokes fun at American Indian stereotypes.

Yep among other things, hard to keep up with political correctness and language. We aren’t supposed to talk of Indians any longer, but are supposed to say native American, or refer to the specific tribe such as Navajo. I understand Canada has similar issues with how to refer to their aboriginal people. And that the word “Eskimo” is politically incorrect now.

I recall the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian football league. I wonder if they have been pressured to change their name, similar to how the Washington Redskins have been so pressured.

I actually have that soundtrack on vinyl. Pristine copy. It’s actually pretty darned good.

They recorded the orchestra in New York, sent the tapes to California, where they laid down Doris Day’s vocals.

I may have the locations reversed. Day was working on another project at the time.
