I don't think pedestrians are the point of the post. Its bicyclists who insist on being equal with cars in the road. They have the law on their side, my Dad used to call the exercise of your rights on the road in any vehicle could make you “dead right”. Common sense will keep you alive longer than the law.

Two years ago, I missed a bicyclist in Portland, OR by 5ft.
She blew right thru a red light and didn’t even look.
It all started in San Francisco back 20 years ago as some sort of wild eyed protest against cars.
