Apparently no such thing as “citizens’ arrest” in CA.

Or “castle doctrine.”

He got off lucky.

But there are those who want the same here...

This is being a vigilante?

About 15 years ago one of obama’s sons touched my girl’s butt in an italian deli in an italian neighborhood.

The next ten minutes for him were Really Bad.

No cameras then. No one called the police.

Indian “owner” of mob controlled deli just asked me to please leave.

That was that.

Vigilante justice is still better than no justice at all.

So, it’s legal for a 28 year old to have sex with a 13 year old girl in B.C.? The police sure don’t seem to give a crap about it.

In Italian neighborhoods, child molestation was discouraged and there was no need for the police. Child molesters tended to avoid the neighborhoods. If they made a mistake, they never made it again.

Desperate for a solution, she said she posed as her daughter and messaged the man to invite him to her home.

I'm afraid this will turn out badly for the normal people, rather than for this evil predator. It's a shame there wasn't a quieter solution . . .

There was an vanity thread just this weekend about “Citizens Arrest”.

Most FReepers advised that No. Don’t do it. Not a good idea.

This thread shows why that is true.

There is something profoundly amiss is Canada’s legal system.

There's a difference between detaining someone at the scene of an attempted crime, and "vigilantism". Of course, 99% of everyone loses any and all ability for rational thought when "child" and "sex" appear in the same sentence, and the actual valid topic will be instantly forgotten and utterly ignored.

They caught someone in the attempted commission of a felony. Letting this be labeled "vigilantism" opens the door for making it illegal for anyone but police to detain felons who are caught in the act.

"S.S.S."

Maybe there should be a STJR (Slow Total Junk Removal) warm-up before the "SSS"...

My guess is that someone in law enforcement was in the same pedo ring that the cops are protecting.

"I'm kind of disgusted by the system myself, in that she went in begging for help yesterday," the stepfather said. "She's been asking for help from the police for the last six weeks...

OK, so he's the stepfather because mom and dad got a divorce and mom wient off with this guy, who didn't adopt her, so she is a stepdaughter, not a real daughter. And "she" has been trying to get help, not "we." No wonder this kid is looking for an outside man to look out for her, not old enough to realize she will be out of the frying pan into the fire.
