Hah! I spent some in Blue Balls, on my way to intercourse and eventually found myself in Gap.
I did all that before I ended up in Bird in Hand...

I’ve been to that area many times and came up with my own sayings.
I was in “Blue Ball”. I wanted to get to “Paradise”. So I proceeded to “Intercourse”, but had to settle for “Bird-in-Hand”.
The road to “Paradise” is through “Intercourse”.
