Beans in space makes one wonder
Would this create a gaseous nebula?
I can think of a few reasons Taco Bell might not be the first choice when it oertains to space station cuisine.
When I was first in the .mil they were issuing then new MRE field rations (Meal, Ready-To-Eat) that replaced the Meal, Combat, Individual. Anyway certain menus (Beans, in Tomato Sauce) had “Not For InFlight/PreFlight Use” prominently displayed on the package. The “Bean Component” as it was it was appetizingly named, was always coupled with “Frankfurters, Beef” which were known more informally as “The Four Fingers of Death.” The meals were rounded out with crackers and peanut butter, or cheese spread, etc. Anyhoo, those meals would REALLY screw up your gut. I believe the cryptic admonition on the package was to prevent internal damage to the bowels due to rapid altitude changes.
