I think all dogs doing what the pit bulls do should be killed.
There is a WaPo article out in the last couple of days online, a large one with a lot of pics, that details the animal rescue organizations’ bidding against dog breeders for “rescue dogs” at breeder auctions. Apparently, they are paying thousands for one dog, in some cases, and it’s having the unintended effect of raising the price of papered dogs. This is being done with donation money.
I think any dog that bites seriously or kills is already euthanized..regardless the breed ....I guess we could torture them too....like punishment....aggravated crime

A grizzly kills some townspeople or park hikers and folks plead not to euthanize the killer bear
We live in an inconsistent world
I do agree irresponsible owners are liable criminally and civil
Pitbulls are like white southerners or South African or Wehrmacht vets of the doggie kingdom
