California Leftists love to pass laws. Then they dismiss the problem as solved, though generally their laws solve nothing, and devote their energies to circumventing the laws for their own benefit. An additional benefit is that the laws can be enforced selectively, to persecute those they don't like, to be ignored as they see fit.
Leftists preach justice but practice injustice, preach liberalism but practice intolerance, preach love but practice hate.
I remember a few years ago in either Salem or Eugene, Oregon, both extremely liberal towns. The town fathers and mothers decided to rename a street in a wealthier, whiter area “Martin Luther King Avenue”. There were howls of outrage from the leftist residents with the usual disclaimers: “I can’t imagine a better name for a street, just not mine or in my part of town”. I think it had to do with the perception that most streets named after Dr. King were in poor areas, so it would affect property values.
