The building that he died in at the field hospital still stands. It has been partially restored and is referred to at the Stonewall Jackson Shrine. The NPS own that portion of the old plantation.
That building is miles from the field hospital and the doctor’s family house and graveyard.
At the shrine there is a map that shows the ambulance route from the field hospital to that building at Guinea Station which they used as a hospital. Most of those roads are still in use and it is possible to retrace that route to the site of the field hospital, the house and the graveyard.
