Alan is right and Painter is lying. Mueller was an AUSA in Boston and part of the team who kept innocent men in jail to protect scumbag Whitey Bulger, who was allegedly an FBI informant but actually wanted to put away a rival gang.

If a liberal can be like Alan and be objective and honest, it makes for honest political discussions, and conservatives can work with them to figure out what works for the country. It’s when liberals lie and use underhanded techniques for personal gain that they become enemies of democracy.
Painter chewed up Alan’s 30 seconds barking out the “Mueller is a gooooood American!” meme.
Mueller was in charge of the anthrax investigation. It could not find who really was responsible and dishonorably pursued cases against two people, both of which did not hold up to honest scrutiny. He never saw 9-11 building in the Al-Queda terrorist case files, while the warnings signs were evident in the information the FBI had, even the cells that proved to be involved.
I cannot repeat it often enough, Mueller’s record is as a bungler. There is no impugning of his reputation to say that; it’s the records of all the things he failed at. Mr. Painter is selling myths when he claims Muller has a professional reputation that cannot be assailed.
