“An article by anti-science “More Guns, Less Crime” John Lott. I’m sure it’s unbiased and objective.
I regularly go out to dinner in Freeport, NY, a low income neighborhood where there is an MS-13 gang presence. Gun control laws are very strong, people do not carry guns, and the murder rate in Freeport is less than that of Tulsa and OKC where Yosemite Sams roam the streets.
Gun free zones are extremely safe. People go through gun free zones every day without being killed. NYC as close to a gun-free zone as possible and the murder rate is less than almost all cities in the south. Bronx NY has a lower murder rate than Tulsa and OKC.”
Gee, don’t we really enjoy being characterized as Yosemite Sam or Rambo or Dirty Harry and how that contributes to serious, thoughtful discussion about this topic, eh? You can really tell that these people are on Soros’ or Bloomberg’s payroll to write dreck like this.
Tulsa and OKC were extremely dangerous places back when it was illegal to carry a gun, even in your glovebox, and fingerprinting was required to buy a handgun in these two towns. I lived there.
Then there is the gun control capitol of the USA, CHICAGO! Most dangerous place
And a generation ago, NYC was among the highest murder rate cities in the country. What changed?
It wasn’t the confiscation of firearms, or a change in gun laws - but rather a change in the government of the city and a decision to actually prosecute bad guys.
Prior to that time, the penalty for shooting someone was a year and a half less than for having a firearm and not shooting anyone.
