How the Democrats Could Thwart Trump’s Supreme Court Takeover (These people are pure pond scum)
the Daily Beast ^ | 5/11/2018 | DAVID FARIS

Posted on 05/12/2018 6:27:19 PM PDT by Beave Meister

When it comes to filling vacancies on the Supreme Court and lower courts, the Democrats have played nice for far too long.

If you’re a Democratic partisan, the name Merrick Garland probably still makes your blood boil. And it should. As the Supreme Court prepares to issue verdict after verdict that will further entrench conservative power in the United States, the far-reaching effects of Mitch McConnell’s darkly clever Garland hold-up will only become more shocking and problematic. The most galling fact is this: in any sane political system, conservatives would be in the minority, both on the Supreme Court and in the rest of the federal judiciary. And the next time they are in power, Democrats must rectify this injustice by adding seats to the Supreme Court and radically enlarging the federal judiciary, filling those slots with the most outrageous liberals they can find.

Why? The Democratic candidate has won a popular vote majority in six of the last seven presidential elections. Over that same time period, Democrats have secured 30 million more votes for the U.S. Senate than their Republican counterparts. In 2016 alone, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, and Democratic candidates received 11 million more votes for the Senate. The record here is clear: Over the past 26 years, the American people have voted, over and over again, to give Democrats the authority to staff the federal judiciary with living constitutionalists, and instead what they have received is a Supreme Court that remains in the death grip of a radical, conservative majority and lower courts that have flipped back and forth between Democratic and Republican appointees. Here, as in so many other ways, American democracy has misfired by hewing to institutions and procedures cooked up over candlelight a hundred years before....

I actually thought Obama and his Demon Rat majority was going to do this as a matter of course in 2009-2010.

I am glad they neglected to do so....

We should be shoving it down their throats with both hands and maximum force.

For anyone interested, there is a great article at TownHall.com that bears the absolute truth of the matter, and shows the histrionics of the Left to be an example of the hate inspired, unconstitutional scum they really are with yet another self-inflicted wound: "Senate Dems: We're Horrified the GOP is Exploiting Our Power Grab on Judicial Confirmations" and there was a good thread started by Kaslin at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3654535/posts

I loved this excerpt:

"...Having escalated the judicial confirmation wars at virtually every turn since the 1980's, Senate Democrats in the early 2000's pioneered a new form of self-interested obstruction to block a number of President Bush's nominees to the federal bench. When Republicans retaliated in kind during the Obama era, many of those same Senate Democrats -- led by Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer -- voted to eliminate the filibuster rule they'd exploited to thwart Bush. Detonating the 'nuclear option' was the latest ends-justify-the-means maneuver by upper chamber liberals, to whom then-minority leader Mitch McConnell made this final plea prior to the fateful vote:

The American people decided not to give Democrats the House or to restore the filibuster-proof majority they had in the Senate back in 2009, and our Democrat colleagues don’t like that one bit. So they’re trying to change the rules of the game to get their way...In short, unlike the first two years of the Obama Administration, there’s now a legislative check on the President. And the Administration doesn’t much like checks and balances...And get this: [Democrats] think they can change the rules of the Senate in a way that benefits only them. They want to do it in such a way that President Obama’s agenda gets enacted, but that a future Republican president couldn’t get his or her picks for the Supreme Court confirmed by a Republican Senate using the same precedent our Democrat friends want to set. So they want to have it both ways. But this sort of gerrymandered vision of the nuclear option is really just wishful thinking.

As the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee put it yesterday: ‘If [the Majority Leader] changes the rules for some judicial nominees, he is effectively changing them for all judicial nominees, including the Supreme Court.’ Look: I realize this sort of wishful thinking might appeal to the uninitiated newcomers in the Democratic Conference who’ve served exactly zero days in the minority. But others in their conference should know better...if they want to play games and set yet another precedent that they will no doubt come to regret, well, that’s a choice only they can make.

He added, "you’ll regret this, and you may regret this a lot sooner than you think.” That warning fell on deaf ears, and Democrats marched forward with their power grab. President Obama, who'd enjoyed a 99 percent confirmation rate on his judicial picks prior to a partisan fight breaking out over his designs to pack the DC Circuit Court, prevailed. A flurry of post-nuclear confirmations allowed Obama to dramatically tilt the federal judiciary to the left, a development that was enthusiastically welcomed by liberals. But as McConnell presciently foresaw, the proverbial shoe is now on the other foot, and the American Left is looking on in horror as President Trump and Mitch McConnell use the Democrat-implemented new rules to confirm an avalanche of young conservative jurists..."

The Left must be taught a lesson, as hard as it is to get it through their thick skulls: If you want to play your political crap games, man up and be prepared to feel the pain when your oh-so-clever political hardball tactics boomerang around and nail you in the nuts. Perhaps next time, you might heed the advice of someone who understands that making laws that benefit you when you are in power may (and will) be used against you when you are NOT in power.

So we should push and abuse this rule THEY created to get as many conservatives in the judiciary as we can...and we can do it LEGALLY because THEY changed the rules.

And we should do the same with other abuses. They want to go after Dinesh D'Souza? Rosie O'Donnell should be prosecuted and convicted to the same extent for the same crime.

Want to go after Michael Flynn with the Logan Act? Let's go full tilt on John Kerry. Handcuff him when he gets off the plane, raid his mansion and search it, interview him until we catch him in a lie, and prosecute him for it.

If we don't start throwing it right back in their faces, they will continue to do it. If we use their "rules" against THEM, they may think twice, though that is doubtful.

You filthy pond scum. Drink a long draught of the polluted political waters you created. Do us all (and the Republic) a favor by CHOKING on those polluted waters you made.

Totally agree. The Repugs in Congress are too afraid of the media (aka, the dems) to fight dirty like the Rats. What I love about Trump is that he has taken a wrecking ball to the media and he’s single handedly obliterating them. Wish the cowards in congress would learn from him.

Yep. Trump is not rolling over and meekly exposing his belly like every other weak kneed right of center President and political has been doing since Reagan left office.

Trump isn’t perfect, but he doesn’t shy away from a fight, and I love that. It is what we need.

thing is, with Hussein in office and majorities in Congress, they thought they had captured power for all time. The 2016 election convinced them they had taken over and the advent of the Clinton figurehead would be the end of that horrible reactionary Constitution and they could start personally neutralizing, probably even killing, all their enemies. Trump was the only Republican who could have won that election and the only one who could make a difference if he did win.

The Democratic candidate has won a popular vote majority

Only if you count the millions of illegal alien votes in California and New York.

Yes, Trump was the only one who could have made a difference. Look at the choices we had the last eight election cycles. At best, any elected non-Democrat would only be “less worse” than the Democrat alternative. Trump seemingly just dropped out of thin air. I never saw him coming.

As for the Democrats, they are leftists. On the surface, to the gullible, the tenderhearted, the willfully misled, and those susceptible to the politics of division, the Democrat Party offers an easy solution to their obstacles to Utopia.

We (those that pay attention) know that, at best, there IS no Utopia, and that their pitch is all snake oil.

But we know at worst that putting people like them in charge of the levers of power will result in wars, famines, poverty, and tyranny. We know this because history has shown us with Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, Red China, Cuba, Venezuela, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Chavez, and hundreds of millions dead and many more in poverty the results of Leftism.

It has also shown us over and over again what Leftists DO when they have power...concentration camps, tyranny, show trials, and ubiquitous surveillance of its own people, and eventually murder when they refuse to buckle under, such as Stalin’s deliberate starving of millions of Kulaks, peaking at the rate of 25,000 deaths by starvation each day in 1933 because they continued to resist collectivization of their farms.

All done with a media that either ignored what was happening, or willfully remained ignorant.

That is Leftism. Any time they have power, our Republic is danger at best, and at worst, suffers the accumulated insults of degradation of our way of life.

Apart from the good-hearted liberals (who are largely ignorant of what Leftism really is) I view the Democrat Party as domestic enemies of The Constitution.

We should get ourselves right with this point of view, because they have viewed us not as countrymen, but as their enemies for a long time.

I love it when psychotic RATS talk about violating the “Spirit of the Constitution” after complaining about how outdated it is. Or when they talk about Conservatives violating “historical norms”. First of all Conservatives are all about conserving historical norms (hence the term conservative), while the left has been in the process of destroying every norm established over the last 2000 years! Meanwhile the historical norms the left wish to retain were established as far back as the Obama admin. Mr Faris is another radical leftist trying to rationalize using unconstitutional methods to obtain power and control. PS he also a University Professor no doubt indoctrinating young skulls full of mush.

Read this to understand why we are a representative republic...

I don't care how popular Woods is he is wrong, wrong, wrong.
America is a Constitutional Republic. Representation is laid out in the Constitution.
One must precede the other. Which one does that?

Start with a false premise and you will always get an incorrect conclusion.
