...$60 cannabis shake that doesnt have any of the high-inducing elements of THC because it uses cannabis plant extract known as cannabidiol, or CBD.
The concoction is made of CBD that comes from organic hemp seeds from a field in Switzerland, along with some high-end vegan ingredients and supplements.
Customers can use the cafes courtesy iPads to order the shakes, first by specifying any health ailments or concerns, according to Eater LA.

In Europe they sell beer with THC added (I didn’t try it though) and soon to be in the USA

Blue Moon’s brewer launching marijuana-infused ‘beer’
DENVER The inventor of Blue Moon beer is launching three marijuana-infused drinks that promise intoxication without the alcoholic headache.
The drinks, served chilled and initially only available in Colorado this fall, will contain no alcohol but will instead be infused with special marijuana formulas designed to mimic the effects of booze. Its developers say the drink will hit the user at the same pace as if they were drinking a beer.
Like “not inhaling”.
I’ll take my beer with a ‘hit’ of bourbon, thank you!
What's the point of that? sounds like a bizarre scheme to fail drug tests without actually smoking the stuff.
CBD oil shows a lot of promise in health applications, sadly since the government made marijuana illegal it encouraged the selective breeding of of strains high in THC with no regard for CBD content.
Hopefully at some point there will be strains bred for high CBD oil content and no THC content so it can be raised for health applications only.
I wonder if you could point to laws that allow selling of alcohol free beer a as precedent for allowing growing plants that have no THC in them in states that are never going to legalize.
I guess I better not eat these...
Hops are a close cousin of cannabis.
“Hopefully at some point there will be strains bred for high CBD oil content and no THC content so it can be raised for health applications only.”
There are half a dozen strains commercially available right now with low THC and high CBD percentages. “No” THC probably isn’t realistic but these strains with 5% or less THC are effectively the same with any reasonable amount of smoking, vaping, or oral consumption (in terms of their VERY low psychoactive potential). But yes, you could still fail a drug test. The CBD products made from hemp, OTOH, have only negligible THC, don’t normally cause failed drug tests, but obviously don’t include the health benefits some attribute to THC.
The non-high/non thc cbd oils are excellent for all sorts of health problems. Pain relief for one.
CBD and THC are just two of over a hundred cannabinoids that can be in the plant. When the Feds stop blocking research with Nixon's revenge on hippies there will be much to learn.
They already have this, meant for children with uncontrollable seizures.
A relative is fighting a rare cancer right now.
I'm trying to convince her to utilize this stuff.
