  1. They need to review the pensons and see if they are reasonable. Including if the pension is reasonable compared to most pensions, and if their were games played in the last couple of years such as excessive overtime to spike the value of the pension.
  2. They need to ban pensions in favor of fully funded 401K plans. Members of governments should not be allowed to enrich themselves as the expense of their subjects.

Maybe they can also pass a law that forbids anyone to sell their homes or move until the debt is paid off. And any complaining about these or any tax laws should be a hate crime.

If the employer IS the government - state, city or municipal, who kicks in their share? Not being smart - just wondered WHO pays for the employer?

Um, have you read Article XIII Section 5 of Illinois' Constitution that created an enumerated pension protection clause?

Illinois is screwed and a couple of years ago the Illinois Supreme Court unanimously as well as rightfully stated so when a Democrat administration tried to institute pension reforms.

First, the people will have to amend their Constitution which is no easy task. Then appease unions with actual reforms avoiding the political fallout.
