Glenn Beck was a Never-Trumper to the bitter end in 2016. Not only was he simply against Trump, he made some of the most outlandish comments about him. It was all in an attempt to scare people away from supporting him.

LINK Here he appeared in a Charlie Rose segment on October 24th, 2016. In it he stated Trump mused to himself, he'd give it (a presidential run) a whirl, and (Trump) surmising he might not last six months. He bashed the financials of Trump's empire. He mentioned that one facility changed it's name not to include Trump any longer. This was a signal (in Beck's fantasy world) Trump's empire was about to collapse. Rose reminds him he has called Trump a pathological liar and possibly a sociopath. Glenn spent the last minute of the clip spouting utter nonsense. Part of it was related to Trump not showing empathy for others, never helping anyone who couldn't help him. Never mind that Trump had been quietly helping people for decades off the record. This was 14 days before the election.

LINK In an October 12th interview, Glenn recalls considering a vote for Hillary Clinton for a short period of time, but then concerning that move, he finally concluded that was a step too far. Glenn goes on to trash Trump's character, "...Beck, who campaigned with Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign and was an early champion of the tea party movement, said the election comes down to what he called a 'moral, ethical choice' in one Facebook... In other words, Glenn thought it would be ethical knowing what was known about Hillary Clintion, to pass up a chance to defeat her. Not only that, he thought it would be ethical to trash her only major opponent so she would have a better chance of winning.

LINK Then there was this diatribe where a guest on Glenn's show touches base on the only way to get rid of a president who had cast aside the Constitution and Congress was too weak to stop him. Beck did not push back on either issue, (1) Trump setting aside the Constitution and (2) there being only one way to get rid of Trump after that. Of course the two later denied any ill intent, and Beck even blamed the listening audience for being some sort of "idiots" to take away a negative impression related to the talk. It is also noted that this had been a topic of conversation off the air as well. This was an attempt to frame Trump for having a tyrannical nature. Here was a guy that was going to do away with the Constitution and harm the nation and it's people. All this talk while a man that basically did just that, and I don't recall either of these two suggesting only one way to get rid of him.

Beck is a world class idiot. Now he's decided it's time to act as if he's a fellow traveler on Trump's broader public ideological team.

Pardon me if I dump on Beck and his defenders.

Crack whores would have better sense than to back this guy.

Review of Beck’s Claims regarding Trump in the last month before election day 2016

01. Trump was a psychopath
02. Trump was a sociopath
03. He only ran for fun
04. Trump didn’t really mean to win
05. Trump didn’t think he’d last six months
06. Trump thought he would be removed before six months were up
07. Trump would abandon the Constitution
08. The nation would be put into a position where the only way to get rid of Trump would be to assassinate him
09. The renaming of one hotel, not to include the name Trump meant financial ruin was just ahead
10. Trump’s empire was teetering about to fold
11. Trump never did anything for anyone that couldn’t help him
12. By inference, Trump never intended to follow through on his promises
13. By inference, Trump thought his policies would get him impeached
14. By inference, Trump’s ineptness would cause him to be removed from office
15. By inference, if people were stupid enough to put Trump into office, they would certainly be sorry, and demand his impeachment with six months
16. He said a vote for Trump would not be moral.
17. He said the Constitution Party was a better choice
18. He said Trump was only about winning
19. He inferred Trump was all about the end justifies the means
20. He stated that if Republicans continue to tolerate Trump, the party faces the risk of losing an entire voting bloc of recruits who are, like him, exasperated by Trump’s language and history
21. Beck Said, “We are going to lose the next generation. We’ve already lost the millennials.
23. Beck said, “We’ve lost that generation, 35 and under. The ones we are raising right now, if they see us behave in ways that are contrary to what we say we are teaching them, we will lose them too.”
24...

Folks there’s more at those links. Beck labels Trump “Alt-Right” (that damned title I told folks would come back to haunt us).

The man was a psycho against Trump.

How much of his diatribes was true?

Does anyone seriously think we should back Glenn Beck now, since he’s “on our team”?

"This was a signal (in Beck's fantasy world) Trump's empire was about to collapse."

While he may have been wrong about this, I would still consider Beck a subject matter expert on collapsing empires.
