The only way this could happen is if the patient became anoxic, markedly hypotensive, or arrested during the surgery - which really makes me wonder what the hell was going on. Actually, as I went back to the article it said she left the patient on the operating room table for 8 hours - and the patient suffered cardiac arrest. This is crazy. This woman should be referred for criminal negligence charges.
