My wife informs me that most of her friends no longer use Facebook since it became clear that it was an arm of the government. And it has become really boring.

I wouldn’t know personally, since I’ve never been ‘on’ it. But even several years ago, young people that I knew were moving away because it became not only boring, but disturbing to them. I remember one young woman who became very tired of the narcissism and social competition that she saw there.

Facebook...did it ever move beyond cat pictures and photos of what somebody had for dinner? I have an account there only because family insists that I look at their vacation pictures...which I find BORING.

Facebook was cool in 2005.

Now, however, there are many alternatives.

There will be many more alternatives, and Facebook will be obsolete, joining MySpace in the social network trash bin.
