Transgender people are being encouraged to become Church of England vicars as bishops launch a diversity drive.
Bishops in the diocese of Lichfield have issued new guidance to parishioners and clergy reminding them that LGBT people "can be called to roles of leadership and service in the local church".
The guidance, titled "welcoming and honouring LGBT+ people", warns that the church's reputation as being unwelcoming towards gay and transgender people is stopping young people attending.
"We very much hope that they, like everyone else, feel encouraged to serve on PCCs, or as churchwardens and worship leaders, for instance, and are supported in exploring vocations to licensed lay and ordained ministries," the guidance says.
"Nobody should be told that their sexual or gender identity in itself makes them an unsuitable candidate for leadership in the Church."

Trans people have a suicide rate approximately 10x that of the general population. So, as a class, these people are suffering from tremendous mental dysfunction. On the personal level, they are craving approval from the rest of the population and seem to be willing to employ any means (whether using government coercion, or just telling blatant lies) to attain it.
On the spiritual level, God will not use a person as his representative who has overt sins. Just plain and simple. One of the sins is sexual immorality. The entire 5th chapter of 1 Corinthians is devoted to the topic of sexual immorality within a church, a church that approved of what was going on. Paul’s rebuke was simple: such a person must be put out of the church unless and until he stopped that sin.
There are other places in Scripture that enumerate the qualifications of a minister. These people must lead exemplary lives, not lives of personal, mental and emotional turmoil. Should such a person get their lives fully in order, only then can they be considered for the ministry.
Church of Gay England is the new name!
No, they shouldn’t. They should wait until they transition and then consider it.

Here's a job where they can excel. "Trans" are not only welcome to the C of E clergy, they are perfectly suited to it.
