The legs of a skeleton emerge from the ground beneath a large rock believed to have crushed the victim's bust during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in A.D. 79, which destroyed the ancient town of Pompeii, at Pompeii's archeological site, near Naples, on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. The skeleton was found during recent excavations and is believed to be of a 35-year-old man with a limp who was hit by a pyroclastic cloud during the eruption. (Ciro Fusco/ANSA via AP)

The thing about Pompeii is, it’s portrayed as a sudden event with no warning. Those poor victims!
Actually, Vesuvius had been erupting on and off for 16 years before that. So there were plenty of warnings that this was a dangerous area, which many people decided to ignore ... and ended up paying the price
Doesn’t Nature / God usually give some kind of warning of big events? Whether people want to heed that warning is their own choice

Posh. I saw JUNGLE JIM pick up a rock that size and throw it at some bad guys on TV!
I'd love to go back there on a cloudy, cool day in January...and I'd love to hit Herculaneum as well.
That will buff right out.
i wonder how they died? Asphyxiation? Being crushed to death? Burned alive?
