for me, 1965 ..... that's all I know.

My parents told me a couple of suited guys came to the house and asked questions.

I never asked them about what or anything ... I was pretty stoked for having achieved a secret clearance.

As a post script, I was the E-5 weekend shift supervisor for a relay station in Panama with only a Secret Clearance

. Sunday night we received a top secret flash message over a non secure teletype from a fellow station on the Pacific side of the canal.

My immediate response was to contact my NCOIC who was off for the weekend and when he arrived, he had to contact the CO of the facility.

The following morning (Monday) I was interviewed by the CO. This was a major concern for me because the following morning I was about to fly home for my first 30 day leave in almost two years in Panama. Nothing major occurred during the briefing and by the time I got back from my leave, I had been upgraded to a Top Secret clearance...........LOL!
