Three months after a South Carolina woman made headlines for gouging her eyes out while in a drug-induced high said she was starting to feel like herself again.
Kaylee Muthart, 20, of Anderson, S.C., told People she was adapting to her new life following the incident.
I actually feel like a person. I feel like myself, and I dont feel like Im chasing something, she said. It, actually, feels really nice. The way it worked out is the way God had it work out, thats just the way it is but Id rather for it to have happened than to still be stuck in that world.
On Feb. 6, 2018, churchgoers in Anderson County were terrified after they witnessed Muthart removing her eyeballs. At the time of the incident, she said she was hallucinating from a large dose of meth.

Grisly, gruesome story. But on the bright side - Kaylee said “I’m doing better, yes. I can’t ever see myself doing that again.”
(ba doom shish)
What a stupid muthard....
The guy who shot and killed the Tennessee Sheriff’s deputy yesterday had spent the night getting high on meth according to his girlfriend.
LSD if she had jumped out a window to fly.

Ah gee thanks. Just in time for lunch..
Dude...
Thank you for alerting me. There are things that I don't care to read about.
I lost both of my parents to meth and can say with authority that this girl is lucky to have come through it even though she lost her eyes.
How sad.
But I worry. Even though she lost her eyes, has she truly kicked the habit?
I hope so.
She should have done it at the closest Popeye’s.
Somewhat Off Topic from a Cost of Living perspective.
I suppose someone who is completely disabled such as this poor young girl would be eligible for both Medicare and SSI.
She may get less coverage because the injuries were self inflicted. A good insurance counselor would argue that, while the injuries were self-inflicted, they were the result of substance abuse, an affectation of addictive behavior. Some
Of course, her mom may already have some sort of coverage, but would need supplemental coverage for the ongoing costs.
At some point, her Mom may decide she either has had enough acting as caregiver for her daughter, or needs a few Home Health Care staff to visit X times a week. That too, should be paid for.
What as been seen can not be unseen. ;)
That’s how I see it. She probably is honestly better off blind and saved vs having two eyes but being a meth head. I’m guessing she’ll still need some dental work...
OMG yeah...you know about the grinding!!! Ugh.
Must have been some really good sales! She keeps an eye out for those.
Megan, how sad for you!
We are all glad you survived their experience and are here!
You just had to socket to her......
Not mentioned in the story is the couple of photos of a partially-clothed Hillary found at the scene of this incident.
One of the first responders clearly saw part of one of these pics where the gouger’s blood didn’t obscure the image, and was hospitalized for a few days as a result. He managed to make a full recovery, but says he is still haunted by the vision of a lily-white cankle not covered by a pantsuit leg and is currently receiving counseling.
Hat tip to the old Monty Python sketch of “Joke Warfare”.
