The media is using the statement to say that Trump disinvited them because they personally didn’t stand (when they did). I read Trump’s statement as saying his comments and advocacy on this issue which led to a rule change were a factor in players not showing up (at least in part). Just because they stood, doesn’t mean they don’t think other players should have to stand.
Raising a fist may be even more disrespectful than taking a knee. PDJT did not cancel the invite because the Eagles took a knee. He cancelled it because only a few were coming. More than 70 who had submitted their. names and been ok’d by secret service cancelled very close to the celebration. Why is the media, including Fox News, so dishonest about this?
