The boy's mother, Pearl Fernandez, 34, pleaded guilty in connection with the boy's 2013 death in February. Fernandez's boyfriend, Isauro Aguirre, was convicted of first-degree murder on Nov. 15 and a jury found true the allegation that the defendant tortured the victim.

Gabriel was taken to a hospital in May 2013 when he stopped breathing. He had a cracked skull and broken ribs, with B.B. pellets in his lung and groin. He was declared brain dead and died two days later.
Hatami argued that Aguirre and Fernandez worked to keep their treatment of Gabriel hidden by using make up to cover up his bruises. They exchanged text messages where they discussed how they put him in ice water.

Honestly, I look at the boy and I tear up. How could ANYONE? Let alone his mother??

Isauro Aguirre, the mother’s boyfriend and the one sentenced to death, was also involved in welfare fraud.
According to trial transcripts, the day that Aguirre beat Gabriel to death, he was in the bedroom. He picked Gabriel and carried him in and discarded him in the living room. No man with good in him would do that. And, it stated Aguirre tried to save the little boy and cried after confessing to hitting the boy 20 times.
Glad he is going to make his next case with God. He probably won’t win that one either.

Now why can't this include a speedy appeal, a speedy sentence, and a speedy throw of the switch to get people like this under the dirt?
