Samantha Bee, and the geniuses at TBS, had a week to script an astute statement for hergetting the issue of her signature vulgarity off her backand they blew it.
Bee said last night that she has dropped the c-word many times before, stating that her goal is to reclaim it. Why? Why would she want to normalize a word that if used to describe her own mother she would recoil?
Bee admits that a lot of women dont want that word reclaimed. Sadly, she cant figure out why. Whats the point of reclaiming a word that invites men to think of women as a piece of meat? To show that her animus is not simply against women, she said that Many men were also offended by my use of the word. I do not care about that. Spoken like a true sexist.
Bee needs to be careful. Men have wives and daughters, and some might unfortunately find it an occasion for violence if Bee were to call one of them the c-word.
Bee ended by saying, If you are worried about the death of civility, dont sweat itIm a comedian.
This is exactly the problem...

So I guess foul-mouthed Samantha Bee wont mind if I call her a worthless, incompetent POS.
No, she’s not a comedian. She’s a shock-talker, that’s all.
“reclaimed”
What does that mean here? Did applying that name to a woman once have positive connotations? Not in my memory.

Online car marketplace Autotrader called Bees comments unacceptable as it announced it was withdrawing AutoTrader from advertising on her show. Thank you to those who reached out regarding AutoTraders sponsorship. The comments expressed by Samantha Bee were offensive and unacceptable and do not reflect the views of our company. As a result, we have suspended AutoTraders sponsorship of Samantha Bees show, an AutoTrader Twitter statement read. AutoTrader was followed by State Farm Insurances ad withdrawal based on Bees not reflecting their values.

A modern day Randi Rhodes, vodka and all.
Shock value! It’s still being talked about isn’t it? Publicity even bad publicity is worth $$$$$$$$!
She’s like the rest of the Progressives: Throw out your poison, apologize, and get a pass from the Democrats and lame street media.
I looked at advertisers on 6.6 program: All, except for Play Station (PS 4), jumped ship from 5.30 show. While a few new nobodies were on board last night, most of advertisers were either movie trailers or other TBS/TNT series promos. That means a lot of advertisers—over 15—ducked out from previous week but didn’t announce it as a permanent pull away. Macy’s was biggest newbie advertiser (aside from movie trailers like Jurassic World, Deep State, etc)
TBS, which is a sister station of CNN (which explains everything), shot itself in the foot revenue-wise...which CNN has been doing with its anti-Trump daily drumbeat for the past 2+ yrs—slowly drumming out advertisers wishing to reach a broader demographic than drama-unmommas.
Per a 5.31 usbacklash.org article, advertisers on 5.30 show included Ford, Honda, Toyota, Lowe’s, Warren Buffett-owned Geico, Snickers, Taco Bell, Orkin, Outshine Snacks. Etc. When I talked with Orkin reps last week, they said they had made a decision to not extend advertising prior to the 5.30 show. Marshall’s/TJX claimed they’ve never advertised on show (dont know who was right—TJX or usbacklash.org) I noticed two of these advertisers took a LOT of negative heat on their FB pages.
Good question.....LOL.
