The trailer sets up the film's focus on Armstrong, his years as a research test pilot and then as an astronaut, building up to what the movie's tagline describes as the "impossible journey to the moon." In July 1969, Armstrong commanded Apollo 11, NASA's first mission to land humans on the moon.
The two-minute teaser provides quick glimpses of Armstrong (Gosling) piloting the X-15 rocket plane and as command pilot for his first spaceflight, Gemini 8 in 1966.
The trailer also includes scenes based on Armstrong's private life, in particular his relationship with his first wife Janet, played by Claire Foy ("The Crown"), and with his children.

Roswell, New Mexico has a very proud history of space flight and aerospace.
You mean extraterrestrial space flight!
Best part of that movie was Holly Hunter.
No, I mean actual space flight.
Where exactly in Roswell, NM?
Yes, “Roswell, Georgia”...
Who knew there could be two towns with the same name? /s
You can also look up the former Walker Air Force Base just south of town, which was home to many of our bombers in the early part of the cold war. It is now the Roswell Airport.
And you could look up the 579th Strategic Missile Squadron, a squadron of Atlas-F ICBMs stationed around the city, (nearly the same rocket that put John Glen in orbit).
Also, there were Nike Hercules surface to air missiles protecting the air base.
In 2012, Felix Baumgartner jumped from a helium balloon at 127,852 feet, launched from the Roswell airport, breaking records for altitude and speed of freefall.
In 2014 Alan Eustace broke Felix Baumgartner's record with a jump from 135,908 feet from a helium balloon launched from Roswell's airport.
Ok, thanks for the info.
Eugene Cernan (Apollo 17) also graduated from Purdue.
My father was a member of the astronaut corps in the 60s as a trainer. He actually tried out to be one of the first two groups but was disqualified for a minor medical condition. Weve had Neil Armstrong at our home for dinner (I was very young and dont remember much).
Both of my children went to Purdue. My son was on a team led by Buzz Aldrin to do a Mars mission feasibility study as his senior project. He now works for one of the big rocket firms as a ballastician designing the boosters for the Mars rocket.
I am DEFINITELY stoked to see this film!
22 Astronauts graduated from Purdue. My father and two children did, too. See my post above to see where it took them.
Nothing tells the story better than the historic films of NASA, it’s contractors, the museums and the recollections of the men and women who made it all happen.
I hope they didnt butcher the real story too bad.
...
I hope they focus on his accomplishments, including the near death escapes and the landing on the Moon in which the computer overloaded and fuel ran short.
Outside of his work he was one of the most boring people ever.
It’s for the 50th anniversary next year.
It could have been about Buzz Aldrin.
George: It’s like I’m Neil Armstrong. I turn around for a sip of Tang and you jump out first.
I am a Coen brothers fan of course.
Gale: All right, ya hayseeds, it’s a stick-up. Everybody freeze. Everybody down on the ground!
*beat as no one moves*
Hayseed: Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if’n I freeze, I can’t rightly drop. And if’n I drop, I’m a-gonna be in motion. You see...
Gale: ...Shut up!
Hayseed: Okay, then!
Who plays Mr. Gorsky?
