After losing DACA and facing deportation, he returned to Mexico. He was killed weeks later.

Mexico was an unfamiliar place for 19-year-old Manuel Antonio Cano-Pacheco. He was only three years old when his parents brought him to the United States – without a visa.

In 2015, as a teenager in Des Moines, Iowa, he qualified for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, the initiative spearheaded by President Barack Obama to give temporary protection to undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children. Cano-Pacheco gained DACA status and with it, a work permit, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

But then he was arrested and convicted on two misdemeanor drug charges.

1st. Just build the wall already.

2nd. Where is the people and government of Mexico in protecting their own citizen children who are removed from the country illegally? Is it like they have already surrendered to permanent hellhole status and figure anyone who gets out is better off? Even Cuba demanded Elian Gonzalez back and succeeded.

Every bit if this is on the lefty libs, and everyone that supports open borders and illegal immigration. They started this crap by not enforcing our immigration laws. They encouraged people to come here in waves, bring their family, move right in. Made sure they were given freebies, given a pass for further criminal behavior- treated special in every way. ILLEGALLY! It was all illegal, it was all against our nation’s security, kept wages down for our workers. Like encouraging bank robbers and see what happens.

Now trying to blame people who want to do the right thing for our country, our people for the woes of illegals. I am not accepting that. It is all on those that supported the illegal invasion. Those that support illegal immigration and open borders are supporting modern day slavery, human trafficking, and are responsible for the free flow of drugs- also the cause of the opiod death/addiction epidemic. That does not even include the very real possibility that terrorists and anyone else that wanted to cross were free to do so with the welcome sign out and doors left open.

heh heh

Not John Wayne.

A character in the novel and movie ‘Friends of Eddie Coyle’ said it. I think the confusion is because John Wayne quoted it once on the ‘Tonight Show’.

That is the funniest thing I have heard in ages.

Mexico is a wonderful country with an abundance of natural resources, should be very prosperous. Their government has always been a mess, always. Study political history of Mexico and see that disaster unfold. They have had many revolutions, but not the one that counted, they did not have one that resulted in the people setting up a functioning government. But the “elite” people in Mexico have never had any desire to do what is best for their country or their people. It is all about “ME” with the wealthy ruling class in Mexico. It is as if our corrupt, me first politicians and clueless wealthy in this country had always been in charge. That is what happened in Mexico.

Fixing Mexico is a joke, and we have more than enough issues we need to fix in our own country so we don’t end up like Mexico. Think of the most dysfunctional person you know, think of what it would take to fix them. Multiply that out to the scale of a country.

It's a statistical certainty we've seen the flip side of that headline:

After sneaking across the border and ignoring a deportation hearing, he blended into the U.S. population. He killed a citizen weeks later.

BTW, "killed" includes drunk driving as well as straight-up murder.

Since Mexico allows migrants to traverse their country they should be the ones to put up a refuge camp in which err refugee’s stay instead of the USA.

I don’t care what happens to illegals once they are deported. They should not be here in the 1st place.

Well it’s no Switzerland but there is Canada next door too. If the guy had gone there instead he might still be alive or not. Maybe it was who this guy hung around with more than any other factor.

Sucked to be him.

Can’t choose your parents.

The choices he freely made were to continue violating our laws even after being informed that getting caught would lead to guaranteed deportation.

Nobody made him drive drunk. Nobody made him use drugs. He chose to do these things.

And in the end, he wasn't even deported. He left on his own!

So we are supposd to feel sorry for this loser? Losers lose. That’s how it goes. His choices and decisions sealed his fate. Who cares?

Despite all their sanctimonious pontificating on the issue, Canada doesn't take in illegal Mexicans. The only illegal immigrants Canada wants are those with engineering degrees and clean criminal records.
