DENVER Country Time Lemonade is launching a new initiative to help kids lemonade stands that land in hot water over permitting issues.
Just last week in Denver, someone called the police on a lemonade stand run by boys who were trying to raise money for charity. Police shut the stand down, saying the boys didnt have the necessary permit.
The city later said the boys didnt need a permit, but not before the story captured the attention of people nationwide, including Country Time.
In response, the company is launching Legal-Ade, a team of people who will help lemonade stands deal with permit issues. If a child gets fined for running a lemonade stand, Legal-Ade will reimburse the cost of the fine or permit up to $300.

TAKING A STAND FOR LEMONADE STANDS
Life doesn’t always give you lemons, but when it does, you should be able to make and share lemonade with the neighborhood without legal implications. That’s why we’re here to take a stand for lemonade stands across the nation. The offices of Legal-Ade are now open!
So, if your lemonade stand has incurred a fine during the 2017 or 2018 calendar year OR if you’ve purchased a permit for 2018 so your miniature entrepreneur can sell lemonade, turn to the good folks at Legal-Ade. We’ll cover your fine or permit fees up to $300.
Flipping brilliant!
Apparently you're watching 'Gutfeld' too! 😄
"Someone" should be horsewhipped, or at least, tarred and feathered.
Just a symptom of what is wrong with society today.
Oh, they were just libs.
One day this is all going to come to a head.
And it aint gonna be pretty.
Thanks ATOMIC_PUNK.
My girls got around this in the tight @$$ town we used to live in by setting up next to the main north-south street, jammed every rush hour, with a table and a sign reading “Free Lemonade! Donations Accepted”. They came away with $45 in one afternoon.
I stop at all lemonade stands, but if they use cheap nasty CountryTime, I wouldnt stop. Nice idea but their product is ghastly.
It’s a great idea.
It would be even more effective if Country Time included actual lemons in its lemonade!

Denver? The Kids should have opened a Marijuana Stand.

I know...”Libs being Libs”.
Pretty sad statement that we can shrug our shoulders and regard it as commonplace.
I can just see the normal response when my dad was a kid, or even when I was, to this type of thing by adults and even the cops. A call like that to the police station would have had the guy at the desk call out “Hey! I got a nutbag on the phone!” followed by some well deserved verbal abuse of the person on the phone, along with an admonishment that if they call again, they are going to get a visit from the police instead of the lemonade stand.
Today they have to send a squad car over. Pretty sad.
Great guy. Look him up.

Thank You for your patriotism.
OP, thanks for this uplifting post. :-)
In the meantime in many cities one can set up a food stand cooking food on the streets and sell it to whomever is willing to buy it...no licence yet...just as long as youre one of the privileged who cannot pay the fees and the rent in a brick and mortar restaurant.....they’re finally getting around to licensing them...but enforcement of the rules that the inspectors do to brick and mortar restaurants is not done underclass or not. Absolute subjective oligarchy by bureaucrats.
